Wrixon, former local clergyman, has been taking services at St. Paul’s Church, New- market for the past two Sundays during the Rector's absence on‘ va- cation. A number of Richmond Hill people were able to get to New- market to hear their former min- ister. and several friends of Mr. 'and Mrs. Wrixon entertained them in Richmond Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reesor and family of Lennox Avenue and Markham Road have returned from a three week motor trip to Banff, Lake Louise, Lake Moraine and Bad Lands of Montana and Da- kota, stopping for a few days at Mrs. Reesor's parents’ home at Swift Current, Sask. They were ac- companied by Mr. and Mrs: Em. Reesor. The Rotary Club will receive a commission on all tickets sold which will mean additional funds for local welfare work. Tickets are available from all members and in all local shops. The Richmond Hill Rotary Club is selling tickets for the National Air Show draw to be held at Ex- hibition Park on September 19. Mr. Richard Edmunds of Centre Street West has recently been ap- pointed Director of the Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music. Council is considering the in- stallation of street lights at the Yonge Street and Elmwood corner Richmond Hill Public School Board has hired Mrs. L. Gilbert. Concord Heights, as a full time teacher for the coming school year. Mrs. Gilbert has previously taught in Alberta and as a substitute tea- cher for schools in North York Township. Donald Little left by plane on Tuesday for a two weeks trip to Alberta where he will visit Jasper and other points of interest. He accompanied Peter Bawden, for- merly of this district who is in business in the province. David Graham, who will enter his second year at Kingston Mill- tary College in September, has re- turned home for a two week holi- day, after taking a 13 week Train- ing Course at Chilliwack, B.C., be- fore resuming his studies. Sgt. Michael McCleave and Sgt. Michael Butt returned Saturday from the Air Force Camp at Ayl- mer. where they completed a two week course. The groomsman was Charles Woolward. In memoriams The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Jean Stansfield, who wore a pink tafieta gown and navy straw hat. She carried a nosegay of cream gladioli and red carna- tions. Against a background of pastel gladioli the bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose an ice-blue ballerina length shan- tung gown embroidered with rhinestones and carried a nosegay of pink gladioli and blue carnat- ions. Her small Juliette cap was studded with rhinestones. We are sorry to lose from our midst the Greenwood family, who are returning to Markham to live. Mr. and Mrs. Terry of Victoria Square will occupy their home. The Acremans enjoyed a pleas- ant visit from Mr. and Mrs. Bill Acreman (Ruby Hyslop), Omemee, last Sunday evening. They had been to visit Mrs. Acreman’s fath- er in Toronto earlier and stopped at Headford on the way home. Congratulations to Mr. Freeman Barker, Mrs. Hord, Ruth Clark and Mrs. Norman Bell, all of whom celebrated their birthdays last Sunday. Social Notes Charles and Elisabeth Barker are enjoying a vacation this week. On Sunday evening their parents put them aboard a train for the north where they wil visit their aunt, Mrs. Ralph James and her family at Kenora. It was nice to have Anne Ona- zuk and her husband in church on Sunday. Mr .Moddle of Aurora was again the speaker. The guest in the pulpit this Sunday will be Mr. Ellis. The weather was perfect on Sat- urday last for the Books reunion, held in the park at Woodbridge. and attended by several families from our community. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wellman were awarded the prize for the longest married coup- le at the gathering. Marlene Simpson celebrated her fifth birthday last week with a party which all the Headford young fry attended.
