Neighbours and friends met at the home of Mrs. Everett Phill- ips to bid them farewell and en- joy 21 social evening of euchre. After the game at which Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Thompson won first prize and Victor Bond and Mrs. Wm. Bell consolation. a gift of a mantel mirror was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Dibb. Maurice Beynon read the address while Mrs. Joseph Levison made the presentation. Born at Maple. Mr. Dibb. at the age of two. moved with his parents to the farm. now owned by Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Price. first farm south of Clayton Beynon's.‘ From here he received his educa- tion at the Jefierson School On December 19. 1917. he married Miss Mary Thompson. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Thomp- son of Temperanceville. the homestead being the present re- gidence of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Levison. The couple were mar- ried by Rev. R. B. Brydon. Pres- byterian. at the bride‘s home. After two years of farming. they settled again on the 2nd conces- sion south of Temperanceville. They purchased a 50-acre farm from Geo. Beynon. on which they have spent the past 35 yrs. They have two daughters. Mrs. Everett Phillips of Temperance- ville and Mrs. Douglas Manley of Richmond Hill. The family attended the St. John's Anglican Church where Mrs. leb was a member of the choir. She was also a member of Temperanceville Women's 1n- stltute. Selling their farm to Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Our sympathy is extended to Mrs. Frank Bell, whose brother passed away this past week, also to relatives of Miss Helen Mc- Donald, whose funeral took place recently. ‘ Mr. Milton Wells has returned to Temperanceville after spend- ing the last six months in Churchill. He is working for Mr. E. Phillips. Mr. and Mrs Fleury and baby Debora have come back to this community where they hop'e to build in the near future A stork shower was held in honour of Mrs. Hugh Orser this past week. Mrs. Fournier was hostess to the 16 guests who deâ€" lighted the guest of honor with many lovely and useful gifts. Mothers of the kindergarten group who sponsored the shower, had made attractive decorations. Congratulations to little Lorne Faulkner, who celebrated his 1 birthday on April 27. His grandâ€" mother. Mrs. Wm. Jardine of Toronto surprised him with a birthday cake. VMrston Chalk has been spending a few days with friends in Schomberg. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Turner who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday. Mr.‘ and Mrs. Fred Caulifield of Aurora entertained the Turners and their wedding attendants, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Palmer. Mrs. Andy Armand and son Billy spent the week-end at Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Shiers at Ux- bridge. Mothers‘ Day Services On Sunday, May 8. at 10.30 p.m., all parents and friends are invited to join in the Sunday School service. A special Moth- ers‘ Day program will be follow- ed with Mrs. Victor Wood as guest speaker. Mrs. Robert Turner will be present as solo- ist.
