Benefit Night Successful The Group Committee and the executive of the Mothers' Auxil- iary for the lst Jefferson Scout- ing Group met recently at'the home of the chairman, Ross Ker- win. to discuss ways and means for the raising of around $50 to pay for assessment and insur- ance dues as signified by York Central District Headquarters. The outcome of the meeting was a large card party given by Mrs. Kerwin and Mrs. Jack Hall at Mr‘s. Kerwin's home last Mon- day night, attended by 63 ladies from this community, Richmond Hill, Toronto and even a visitor to Canada from Australia. Re- sult: $45 of the amount needed was collected with a promise for the balance. Everyone had a most enjoyable evening and the refreshments, supplied by good neighbours, were excellent. Prizes. which were also donated for the occa- sion were won as follows: Bridge, Mrs. A. Gibson. Mrs. P. Reid. Mrs. Barth. Euchre: Miss A. Burnett, Mrs. M. Hobson, Mrs. J. Barry. Mrs. Barth. Mrs. S.vLeno, Mrs. H. LeCuyer and Mrs. J. O‘Neill also took home prizes won in the lucky draw at the close of the evening. Mrs. Jack Passmore. president of the Mothers’ Auxiliary thank- ed the guests for their splendid response to the appeal and said there is a wonderful spirit of fellowship in this community where everyone approached for help gives to the utmost.
