A synopsis of the history and words of these were compil- ed by Lawrence Reynolds, a rel- ative of Mr. Wilbert Jennings. The members enjoyed singing several of these selections to the accompaniment of Mrs. Fred Hare. Another very interesting event of the evening was a show- ing of antiques by Mrs. C. Bey- non, which she has collectel over the years. Among these was the Beynon family tree, which norâ€" mally hangs in a place of prom- inence in her dining room. Miss Ruth Beynon played several old songs. The guessing contest on the photos caused many humorous comments. Mrs. Stewart Paxton and Mrs. Stella Paxton will be hostesses at a demonstration in aid of WI. funds on Monday evening. It is hoped as many as possible will attend. Mrs. Nelson Thompson and Mrs. Joseph Levison supplied transportation to the park on this occasion, for which the group are most appreciative. The January meeting of the W.I. was held at the home of Mrs. Clayton Beynon on January 9. The roll call "Bring your own photograph," was used later as a contest of guessing which pic- ture was who. Christmas cards received by the secretary for the W.I. were read and passed ar- ount. Thank you letters were read from our Scottish sister In- stitute, Miss Biggar, and from York Manor. Mrs. Maurice Bey- non spoke briefly on Home Ec- onomics Bulletins and TV prog- rams to be shown on Health. An interesting article on “Get out the Rocking Chair and Kick â€" AdviCe to Improve Circulation" was read by Mrs. Stella Plaxton.
