Miller, Birch Avenue, who was Captain. on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. G. Purvls of Buttonville. campaign chairman of the Richmond Hill and District Unit of the Cancer Society. was present to extend her personal thanks to the ladies for having given so freely of their time and for having pro- duced such splendid returns. Fettes. and Fred Barkers. all of Richmond Hill. joined the Blackburns for a pic- nic and barbecue. In the evening they all enjoyed some home movies. Neighbours The Walter Smiths on Oak Avenue are going to be greatly missed by their many friends. Living here for the past 24 years where Mr. Smith established a painting business with his son. Gordon. Mr. and Mrs. Smith sold their home and moved on Friday to Port Bolster on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Their house has been bought by Mr. and Mrs. Trafiord of Long Branch. whom we welcome to the community. Chapel Ladies Meet About 30 ladies attended the regular women‘s meeting of the Richvale Chapel on Wednesday of last week. which was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Laurini- tus on Yonge St. Mr. Rosenthal of Richmond Hill gave an ad- dress on “World Unrest and the Hope of the Christian".
