These paintings were on display in the Odeon Fairlawn Theatre during the winter. and are the work of the artist Mrs. Betty Carson,R.R.1. Richmond Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stephen- son, Harding Blvd.; also Mr. and Mrs. R. Woodhouse and family returned home after holidaying at McRae Beach. Of interest to local residents is the fact that Dr. G. K. Martin of Richmond Hi1, Director of the Division of Maternal and Child Hygiene for the Ontario Depart- ment of Health, was co-author with four other leading Ontario doctors in compiling this amaz- ingly gratifying report. Dr. W. G. Brown, Ontario’s Deputy Minister of Health headed the five man committee in its research into the vaccine program which began three years ago. A graduate of the University of Toronto 1948. Dr. Martin received his diploma in public health at the university in 1950 following a post graduate course.
