The Richvale Fire Hall being erected on Spruce Avenue. near Yonge Street, is nearing complet~ ion and is expected to be ready by the end of this month. Grainger and children have returned from a twelve day trip to New York where they attended the Jehoâ€" vah's Witnesses’ convention. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shier and their three sons, Larry, Ray, and Fred, returned on the week-end from their two week's vacation at Midland. Shortly after six o'clock on Saturday young David Hartford, Edgar Avenue, emptied about a cupful of gasoline, which was in a soup tin which he was using for collecting tomato worms, on top of wood chips in an incinera- tor where earlier in the day a fire had been lit but apparently now was out. The gasoline exploded and flames enveloped most of David. His quick-thinking brother shouted to David to roll in the mud and covered him 'with dirt. She had been connected with the Department of Health in New York city for many years, and was active in many ï¬elds of endeavour con- nected with civil defense and welfare work.
