It was found to be a. rare "Rich- ardson’s Owl," Mrs. George Cooper enjoyed a visit recently to this community dividing her time between the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kyle and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kyle. While here she made calls on many old friends and had a very pleasant time. We extend sincere sympathy to the family of Mr. John Fenwick who passed away Monday, March 9. Mr. Fenwick had lived with his sister and her husband, -Mr. and Mrs._Wm. Snider of Teston for many years. Our sympathy is extended to Mr. George Thomas and family in the loss recently of a dear wife and mother. To emphasize Education Week, the teachers and pupils of Hope Public School held ‘Open House’ on Thursday evening, March 5. Parents and friends inspected many fine examples of the chil- drens work. Among the displays was a model town constructed by the junior grades to illustrate safety, and a fine array of science displays, set up by the senior grades. Mr. W. Hadwen was mas- ter of ceremonies for the prog- ram presented by the pupils. The program opened with scripture read by Joyce Ambrose followed by the Lord’s Prayer led by Ruth Beatty and the National Anthem. Grades 3 and 4, each child dress- ed in appropriate costume, gave recitations describing some coun- tries they have been studying. Grades 1 and 2 presented a chor- al reading followed by two songs by all members of the junior grades. ‘The A.B.C. Song’ and ‘The Gumdrop Man’ wereethose selected. The pupils; were coaâ€" ched by their teacher Miss Mon- ahan. Readings were given by‘ tone member of each of the senior i ‘grades. Taking part were En-i gelise Hansen, George Barns-1 dale, Wallace McKinnon and‘ Mary Langley. The senior grades then demonstrated to everyone present their skill at square dan~ eing. ‘Birdie in the Cage’ was dan- ced by Mary Langley.
