Lang- for . In his talk Mr. Langford ex- plained how changing trends have recently brought into focus t‘ e advantages of suburban areas t‘ e advantages of suburban areas for industry. Richmond Hill must attract its share of this industry. Before 1954 the community felt little need to attract industry. but. with the tremendous growth of its population, the town must have new industry if it is to keep on an even financial keel. It is not. Mr. Langford said, merely a quest‘.on‘of the taxes deriving from industry; it is a question of the general prosperity which industry brings in many ways. Commissioner Langford Guest Speaker Lions Mr. Langford said that Rich- mond Hill offers many advantag- es to industry, but, like any com- munity, it has its own peculiar shortcomings. These cannot be ignored or minimized, they must be faced squarely and overcome by constructive planning. In par- ticular he stressed the need for water in large quantities, for large plant sites at reasonable prices and for good roads.
