Home By Ambulance Jean Buffett, Roosevelt Drive, arrived home last week after spending two months less two days in the hospital. Jean is still in her cast and will be for three or four more weeks, but is happy to be home and is enjoying the company of her little friends. Her operation was a wonderful suc- cess, according to her mother. lst Langstaff Scouts On Friday, June 19, lst Lang- : al’f Scout Troop left by bus and car to go to the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Kojola at Brown Hill, outside AAurora. Friday night was spent setting up the tents and preparing for the week-end. Saturday included nature trail, tracking, swimming and a campï¬re at night. Sunday started with a Decathalon for two hours before breakfast and ‘Scouts’ Own’ church service after breakfast. The Scouts returned home Sunday night a bit weary, but full of the good scouting over the week-end. School Trustees Meet Next Nov. 18 Deputy-reeue W. Dean of Markâ€" ham, chairman of the county's education committee announces that the second annual conference of the Elementary School Trus- tees Association will be held next November 18 in the Thornhill Un- ited Church Hall. County council had earlier approved a grant of $1,000.00 towards the cost of holding this one day conference. York Becoming Urban Character The planning committee infor- med York County Council in ses- sion this week at Newmarket that the county is fast developing into urban centres. Assessment figures show the county is now only 18.5 per cent rural and 81.5 per cent urban. The committee recommended that the county give more thought to the future of county govern- ment and planning.
