June 24. While the weather wasn't the best and there were other suppers in near~ by communities there still was a wonderful crowd. The ladies serv- ed around 300. The ladies of the W.A. are pleased with the results, and are grateful to all who help- ed in any WM to make the supper successful. It is most gratifying that so many are willing to help again. A thankyou to all. A profit of over $200 was realized. The profits will be turned over to the church to help in their ex- penses. Community Shower The friends and neighbours in the Carrville and Concord com« munities met on Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Winger to honour their son Mur- ray and his bride-to-be, Miss Bev- erley Davidson. of Meath Park, Sash, and presented them with a miscellaneous shower. They were the recipients of many love- ly and useful gifts. which the happy couple were pleased to re- ceive and thanked all very grac- iously for them. There were about 60 pu‘cent present to enjoy this pleasant event. Mrs. J. Barton. & Mrs. R. Middleton were the host- esses for the evening and were assisted by Mrs. A. Rowntree-Hendry Family Picnic The fourth Rowntree-Hendry family picnic was held June 21, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Knight (Maggie Rowntree). on Clarke Ave.. Doncaster. There were 87 present to enjoy this re- union. In the afternoon a few races, sports and a gab-fest were held. George Rowntree of Weston and Mrs. Rowntree, the president and secretary‘treasurer, were in Mount Albert United Church was decorated with white standâ€" ards of pink carnations, gladiolus and white mums and white light- ed tapers for the marriage of Beverley Anne Couper, only daughter of Mrs. Couper and the late William Couper of Mount Albert, to Gordon Edward Poole. son of Mr. and Mrs. George Poole of Concord.
