M. E. TAYLOR Ross Doan School opened its doors to four new teachers and 222 pupils, forty of which are in the kindergarten class this fall. The Junior Special class is at Ross Doan this year. Mrs. Vera Johnson is taking this class. Other new teachers are Miss Claire No- ble. Mrs. Irene Grazelle, and Mr. R. Richardson. “A speedy recovery is wished for Mrs. Chris Underhill, who under- went major surgery in Branson Hospital last week. by her many friends and neighbours. 2nd Richvale Guides and Brownies started this week, at the Charles Howitt School. Their meetings are both held on Tues- day evening 3rd. Richvale Guides also started this week at Ross Doan School, Their meeting night is also on Tuesday. 3rd. Richvale Brownies are looking for a lead- er. Anyone interested is invited to get in touch with the Girl Guide Commissioner, Mrs. F. Big- ley, at Avenue775j3829. The Ross Doan Home and School Association are planning a trip to the Dalziel Museum for their first meeting on the 5th of October. Children will be includ- ed in the trip. At Richvale Gospel Chapel It was announced that Mr. Robert Harkness, who has written and composed a number of hymns, will be at Doncaster Chapel and a cordial invitation is extended to the public to come to hear him and enjoy a musical evening on Friday. Everall-New- nan, Pearson Ave, and their child- ren arrived home on Sunday Sept- ember 6 after a glorious summer spent at Minits’ Point on Kem- ponfelt Bay. Held their executive meeting at the home of Mrs. Russ Clark, Duham Drive to discuss the year's activities. The first project being the bazaar the September meeting will be devoted to that. Anyone who has finished work or partially finished work bring it to the general meeting on September 23 at the home of Mrs. R. Clark. Goings and Coming: Mr. and Mrs. D. Wood and their son Bill from Roosevelt Drive, motored to Kingston on Tuesday, September 15 for a few days. They are dropping Bill off there as he enters Queen's University for his first year in Engineering. The community wishes him the best of luck. Herbert Gerard, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Gerard, Roosevelt Dr. left on ‘Wednesday, September 9 to live in residence at St. Andrews College in Aurora. A meeting of the executive and team captains was held on Tues- day.
