' Hallowe’en Party The children and some of the Mothers of Can-ville Public School enjoyed a very fine Hal- lowe’en party on Friday after- noon. Mostly all the children donned a costume of some sort and had a great deal of fun at the same time. Most of them received a prize in one way or another, and some of them put on a pro- gram to entertain the Mother‘s. With the freezers was; displayed a huge hindquarter of beef which looked as if i’t had been cut from a giant size prize Winning cow. Huge banners invited the public to fill up an entry form on which they could enter their estimate of the weight of the hindquarter. More than a hundred entries were received. There was a crowd around the freezers as people tried to figure out the weight of the beef, contin- uously, and Sales Manager ZElugh Kerr with Bob Reid and his colleagues were kept busy answering questions. The hindquarter goes to-the person most nearly accurate in guessing its weight and there will also be six consolation prizes.
