Mrs. Sedgéwick also contributed a pair of shoes and a purse to Miss Bayfiew 1959 and a purse to each of the run- nets-up. Mr. Ben Walker, who is a manufacturing jeweller, was extremely pleased with results and told “The Liber- al” that he hoped more of these promotions would be organized for Bayvlew Plaza, which “has been out of the public eye too long". He sug- ested that parents could help their children to develop reading skill and a liking for reading by reading themselves and also read- ing aloud with the children. In order to be nominated a person must be a resident ratepayer that is assessed as owner or tenant, who has paid all taxes or rent in full and must be a British subject, 21 1 years of age or over. A discussion was held on safety in the area. and one of the main suggestions was a lea for the ’ intallation of fire c lights at Bayview and No. 7 highway. 0th- er safety hazards in the area were discussed. I A very interesting and infom- ative home and school meeting was brought to a close and a so- cial time of refreshments was enjoyed by all. Richvale School Senior Classes attended the Royal Winter Fair last Thursday. They made a day of it, breaking up when they at- rived to visit the displays they were most interested in. The next day at school they gave oral re- ports of what they had seen. Miss Carol Martin leaves on December 5 for a trip to Europe. Carol will be away until April anddwlll visit Denmark and Eng- lan . Mrs. Taylor reported a very successful Christmas fair and thanked those who helped in any way. Birthday greetings to Kenneth Miller who celebrated his eighth birthday on Tuesday.
