T. B. Testing â€" High Schbbi Students A county-wide programme for skin testing for tuberculosis in High School students will be undertaken early in 1960. The skin test is a'simple procedure which will indicate whether the student has been infected with tuberculous germs earlier in his lifetime. It is by teenage or young adulthood that most per- sons come in contact with un- known sources of tuberculous in- fection. About 5.000 high school students in 7 high schools in York County will be offered this test. The testing will be done by health unit personnel assisted by the National Sana- torium Association.†PICKERING : Township council this year decided against the practice of giving municipal em- ployees turkeys for Christmas. “It’s the talk of my ward,†said Councillor Spang, “I’m not in fa- vor of giving away turkeys or fur coats". “I think the employees can buy their own turkeys, I buy mine,†said Councillor Mrs. Mc- Pherson.
