Earl S. Bull) It is very fitting at this season to give praise to the Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour, the Son of God, the only begotten of the Father. There is no fact in history so well acknowledged as is the birth of our Lord. Christ’s incarnation speaks to us of His per-. sonal indwelling and glory. “In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.” This means that God has come in person of our humanity, as the Son of Man, that the sons of men might fully and freely receive the gift of eternal life. What is eternal life? Here is the answer, “It is to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ. whom thou hast sent.” All life is a mystery, and the wise men have been trying to discover it for a long time, but Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” It was John who said, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son hath not life.” Today we stand by the Manger Cradle of Beth- lehem, and behold the greatest miracle of the ages. There is nothing shadowy or unreal in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ. He came as a real babe, born of the Virgin Mary, and cradled in the manger of Bethlehem, in a definite place, and at a definite time in the world’s history. In the incarnation of Jesus, we are face to face with the supernatural. Will you this Yuletide seek and receive Christ as your personal Saviour. There is none like Him, He will forgive you of all past sins, He will come and cleanse out of your heart that stubborn, innate, evil nature, and give you a clean heart, and so fill you with His power that you will be able to live a happy, victorious life.
