Aurora won the game 24-17 but had to play all out to do it. At three quarters time, the score was tied but in the fourth quarter. the college team gained and held a slight edge. Every member of the mid- get team got court time in this game. The Senior team had no trouble at all in defeating St. Andrew’s Seniors 45-32. The Junior team played a scrambly. disorganized sort of game and never really got untracked as they lost by a 39-31 score. January 15, all three basketball teams from Thornhill played at Aurora and made a clean sweep by winning all three games. The midget team eked out a 23-17 win to come up with the closest game of the three. In the‘ junior tilt, the Thornhill team scored 32 points while limiting Aurora to 14 points. Big Bob Howes racked in 17 points for the second game in a row to be the high scorer for the game. The Thornhill Senior team swamped the Newmarket team by a 56-16 score as Bill Stratton scored 18 points to be the high scoring ace for Thornhlll. The Newmarket team seemed to be woefully weak and were never a threat at any time. One Arm Star To Wrestle Tuesday Ronnie Crowe, the one armed mat star has taken the fans at Thornhill Market by storm with‘ his fast speedy action, as well as the tricks he can do with his stump of an arm. Crowe is a black belt judo man as well as a top mat star and is tremendous- ly popular at the local rassle palace, He will be teamed up with Freddy Labelle, classy little French-Canadian star in the fea- ture tag team match this Tues- day, January 26. These two wrestlers will test the skill and wrestling ability of rugged Karl Mueller and busy Billy Foster of Brampton. Foster and Mueller have won quite a number of bouts locally and have quite a reputation in the middle- weight division id Eastern Can- ada. Foster and the German feel that they can take care of Crowe and Labelle but the two faster boys think they have the number of Mueller and Basher Bill. Muel- ler claims that Crowe should not be wrestling because of h'g han- dicap and states, “He, rowe, will get no pity from me, or any consideration either.
