Elgin Mills Lady Mrs. F. Spencley Mourned By Many Fred Spencley was a familiar figure at the St. Lawrence marâ€" ket too, where he sold his farm produce â€" and the beautiful flowers Mrs. Spencley loved, and grew in profusion in her own garden. Both Mrs. Spencley and her husband loved all children, and although they were members of the United Church, most Sunday mornings they attended service at St. John’s Anglican Church, Jefferson. filling their panel truck with all the local children who attended St. John’s Sunday School classes, and who other- wise had no means of transpor- tation at that time. Mrs. Spencley was a good neighbour to all who knew her, and through the years proved a great source of motherly comfort to many a young wife with a growing family. During their years at Elgin Mills, Mr. Spenc- ley worked part-time as a driver for “The Liberal” and was well- known in Richmond Hill. Five years ago Mr. Spencley retired from farming, following a heart attack. and he and his wife moved to Scarborough to live with their son and his wife and family. Surviving with her husband Fred are all their sons, Malcolm R.: Donald F. of Goodwood; Rev. John B. of Peterborough; Robert W., of Sunderland; and Howard G.‘F.. Cardiff, Ontario.
