Membership stands at 190 (ac- tive and non-active), at present. and receipts for current expenses during 1960 were $7,750.41, with payment of $636.25 to Toronto Home Missions Extension and $1,818.00 to M & M. Building Fund expenditures amounted to $36.300.29, on which there is a bank balance of $307.08 at the end of 1960. Thé ï¬nal bill from Speckert Construction has not yet been received but contract price was $46,989.00. Portions of the ï¬nishing processes are not included in this price, and will be taken care of by various or- ganizations in the church. Testifying officers of the Vaughan Township Police can be relied on not to jump the gun when they charge a person with impaired driving. That was the conclusion of Magistrate R. G. Pierce in the Newmarket court on Monday when he found Stanley D. Miller, 27, of Toronto guilty of impaired driving, ï¬ned :him $100 and $27 coats and gave him three weeks to dig up the money. Finis Evidence For Conviction Thirty-ï¬ve-year oid Gordon Hardwick, of Markham Township. charged by Richmond Hill Police with fraud and theft, will be heard on February 13. Police say that accused secured $18 from one citizen under false pretenses and‘that he stole a car from an automobile dealer. The crown asked that no bail be allowed inasmuch as accused had been on probation t the time he fell from the aw’s good graces on January 31 relative to the charges now against him. Accident One of the worst accidents in the memory of local residen occurred at Bayview Ave, an No. 7, Highway on Monday, Jan- uary 30th when a car driven by Mr. S. Taylor of Toronto was in collison with a sand truck driv- en by Mr. W. Yarrow also of Toronto. Both Mr. Taylor and his wife who was a passenger in the car were instantly killed. Mr. Yarrow was taken to hospital but released after treatment for back injuries. It is ironical that this tragedy should happen so soon after the installation of stop lights at this intersection.
