Leaving Thornhill by bus at 2 p.m., they rehearsed their play in the afternoon, ate a fine din- ner at a swanky Eglinton Avenue restaurant. but were third on’ the program and didn't put their play on until well after 10 p.m. This was the first preliminary of the Festival and Forest Hill Col- legiate’s presentation of “The Enchanted" was judged the best. Bean and Mrs. Irene Lodge. Pouring tea will be Mrs. Les. Moore. and Mrs. Grace Hagerman, a social worker at the Ontario Hospital, Toronto. The tea. by the way, has been organized by the vol- unteers who have been visiting the “approved home" at Newmarâ€" ket where former patients of Ontario Hospitals make their first attempts at redntegration into the community. It is to be a joint effort with the residents of the home assisting with the tea. Everyone is invited and your attendance at this tea will be one way of helping these people make a contribution to society, and will also help the Canadian Mental Health Association to help them - and you. Mental Health Week is from May lst to May 6th and the Can- adian Mental Health Association will be having a blitz drive for funds at that time. Anyone who could offer their services as a canvasser is asked to get in touch with either Mrs. Townshend-Car- ter at AV. 5-4465 or Mrs. H. R. Neil at AV. 5-1365. This is a treatment centre which cares for approximately 50 children who attend the centre for half a day, Monday to Friday. Mrs. Townshendfiarter does occupa~ tional therapy with the children which helps assess their percept- ual difficulties, makes them bet- ter adjusted to- the world and by their association in the group. gives them some experience in living. The centre has been or- ganized for children who, because of extreme physical, mental or emotional handicaps are not ac- ceptable to the Board of Educa- tion for instruction. Mrs. Town- shend-Carter finds her work with these youngsters. who range in age from three to fifteen years, very rewarding. 53 YONGE 51. M.
