Each of the many on hand at one time or another throughout the warm, sunny day of blue skies and benign breezes enjoyed that something, whether it was one of the many animal shows, carnival attractions, the food, tractor trials, displays, general holiday atmos- phere or the evening dancing or the choosing of the 1961 Dairy Princess of York County. The weather certainly co-oper- ated, as though consciously desir- ous of making amends for the grim rain which, the two previous fairs. wiped out outside events in- cluding the popular horse shows which, this year, were a zestful feature of the day. The animals were in sleek good form, from the little Shetlands which sell anywhere up to thousands per team, to the glossy-coated jum- pers and hunters sailing graceful- ly over the barriers. Women rid- ers. their feminlty accentuated in their trim habits, outnumbered male riders by four to one.
