Competition is very keen -- as the other sixes are trying to win the “Good Hunt- ing Pennant" away from the Red Six -- the present holders. lst Jefferson Pack “Presents for all" when good old Santa visited the Ist Jeffer- son Cub Pack last week. the mo- thers each receiving a gift that the Cubs had made at previous meetings. and the drivers in the car pool were remembered with a small gift. The boys brought white gifts for the needy family, but two small cub uniforms are needed to complete the hamper. so, if anyone has a small uniform or parts that they could donate, a call to PR. 3-5414 will ensure speedy collection and delivery to the right family. A The lst Jefferson Scouts have decided to forego the exchange of gifts and pool their efforts to make a present for one of the Troop that is in hospital. The Christ- mas worship period was taken by Mrs. Wm. Orr, Mrs. Binnimg- ton assisting, with Mrs. Per- kins at the piano. The roll call was most interesting â€" one woman being a member of the W.M.S. for 59 years, another for 48 years and others for shorter periods. Several had been given a life membership by the late Mrs. Wilmot Brumwell. Mrs. Harvey Collard gave a short summary of the work through the 64 years since the‘ organization began with seven charter members. There have been only six presidents. There have been active younger groups1 and some members have served on the Presbyterial. Mrs. McCague took charge of the worship service assisted by Mrs. L. Mumberson, Mrs. W. Brumwell and Mrs. G. Joyce. Mrs. Earl Empringharn gave a report of the WA. annual. held at Mount Albert. Five hundred dollars was turned over to the board of stewards. Mrs. M. Jar- .vis took charge of the business. Mrs. S. DeFoe gave the treas- urer's report. Mrs. W. Madill thanked Mrs. M. After the Cere- mony. a very colourful and in- teresting film titled “Harvest of Energy," produced by the Wil- liam Neilson Company was shown. This film told very vividly from where the ingredients for the chocolate bars came from and methods employed in their manufacture. Following the film, the guests and boys were treated to a sample of their products. Ing-lis’ Guide Company of Richmond Hill Eas¢ for a Christmas party last Thursday. Following the opening, each company perfor- med a skit and played games. There will be no Guide meet- ing on December 21, but there will be a meeting December 28. Brownies First Gormley Brownie Plack visited the rest home in Garm- ley Saturday to sing carols. Each brownie made up a bas- ket and presented them to the ladies along with a plant and a box of home-made cookies. Brownies wish to thank Mrs. S. Boynton for her donation of cookies. After the carol singing, brownies returned to Brown Owl Mrs. G. Hardie's home, for games and lunch. ‘Church News Rev. G. Fitzpatrick was in charge of the church service Sunday morning.
