Mr. Stubbly the vice-president and Miss Stewart the secretary are no longer eligible to hold of- fice as both have moved from the area. i sorces Com-mission that a cash payment for the installation of sewers would be possible for any 'home owner wishing to avoid the 30 year instalment and ‘ensuring interest. Street signs have been shelved pending the installation of the sewers but weed control is in the fore- ground and it is considered ad- visable to get an early start on this matter before it is too late. The unsightly conditions at Yon- vge Street corners are constantly being brought to the attention of the proper authorities. So all in all the executive has held seven meetings and have been constantly attending to the busi- ;ness of the association. 1 Mr. Briggs gave a report on ‘the work accomplished on the proposed park during the clean- up campaign last year also the filling grading and seeding of the 30 ft. strip on the easterly boundary of the subdivision. Council helped considerably with the financial end of this venture and Reeve W. R. Dean personally donated the grass seed and the use of his truck and driver for the clearing away of the debris. This work has ad- ded considerably to the appear- ance and the safety of the sub- division. Our council had to ap- point members to the recreat- ion committee. Chairman of this committee is Councilor Allan Sumner and Ian Brown of Don- caster is the representative from this area. It has been proposed that in future council retain the 5% park land from each new devel- opment and especially endeav- our to retain the woods immedi- ately south west of Henderson School and adjacent land to con- stitute the 5% in any future development there.r The Henderson Avenue Homeigave a lively and thought pro- and School meeting is nowyoking talk. Another possi- bility is that his father, Lorne Bur- bidge, put him at the controls of the Case tractor at the Elmer McKinnon auction sale, April 12. The sale of Elorn Farm, on Maple Road near Highway 400, ends a four- generation-long occupation of the place by McKinnons, the first having taken over the farm in 1842. At that time the latest owner’s great-grandfather bought the farm from three sisters of a Richmond Hill resident. The original owner was a John Mac- Donald who, it is thought, got the farm, which originally covered 200 acres, on a Crown grant in 1799. Mr. MacDonald sold the farm to the aforementioned Mr. Miles in 1812 and Miles subsequent- l,v willed it to his sisters, who sold it to the first McKinnon resident in 1842.
