He claimed that no large in- dustrial sites are now available. Largest is about 12 acres Mayor James Haggart said that many large industries seek prestige sites on main thor- oughfares which can impress passers-by. Richmond Hill lacks such sites at present. The exact acreage allotted for non-residential uses would be dependent on the type of industry and business assess» ment the town could attract.‘ Mr. Decks told the meeting. He noted that Richmond Hill’s present commercial as- essment averages $11,000 per acre. In contrast, North York has a commercial assessment of about $115,000 per acre. In other business, Ontario Hydro asked for permission to build a hydro line from the CNR tracks west to the Depart- ment of Lands and Fonests Re- search Station on Duflerin Street north of Vaughan Road. The proposed line would be on the north side of Vaughan Road. WThe board decided to ask the Hydro to place the lines on the south side of the road. PHONE TU. 4-3683 or TU. 4-0005 A short while ago, water users were asked to restrict lawn watering to a speciï¬ed two days per week. We thank all those who co-operated by accepting these voluntary limitations. The conditions which compelled us to make this request still exist and we have to ask that some prudence still be exercised in water usage for garden and lawn purposes to prevent a repe- tition of the earlier shortage. Conditions are now such that a little more elasticity can be permitted and water may be used for garden and lawn watering at will. However, we do ask that as a safeguard for future supplies, you limit watering to any three nights per week of your choice. Negotiations have been completed with the Water Resources Commission for the develop- ment of another well with a known capacity in excess of our present normal daily consumption, and should be in full operatién by next Spring, thus assuring us of adequate supplies for the future. OF By-law No. 1000 as amended AND IN THE MATTER OF premises known as 150 Mark- ham Road, Richmond Hill. Eas- terly 60 it. of Lot 147. Plan 2383. Here's some advice to n e w parents fr 0 m HEALTH Magazine. Prop- ping an infant's feeding bottle in his mouth when he is left alone may result in the child being drowned by the liquid flowing into his lungs, unless he is old enough to move his head away from the ï¬xed bottle. A baby Should be held in someone's arms during. feeding time. if the young- ster is bottle-ted this should be done while he is being held in an upright position until he is at least three months old. This pre- vents the possibility of ear infections from milk enter- ing the postnasal space. Al- so, make sure milk is past- eurized. Unpasteur i z e d milk often carries disease germs. AND IN THE MATTER of an application by RALPH H. DAVIS for permission to build an addition to the house along the east side of the building with addition having a sideyard of 9.35 feet along Lennox Ave., whereas By-law No. 1000 as am- ended requires a house on a corner lot to have a minimum sideyard of 12 feet on a flank- age street. ‘ “one: 7 1'0 HOG ‘ FARMERS HOG CHOLERA PM.
