There were ‘party’ aprons, and work aprons for pre-schoolers, the latter complete with crayon pockets etc. ‘ One of the more unusual in- cidents of the show was when Gerry Fresque of the 2nd Rich- mond Hill Cub Pack entered a model railroading structure in the Scout classification of mod- el railroading, and walked off with the first prize ribbon. This same exhibit won a special a- ward donated by Keith Hobby Shop as the best over-all entry by a Cub. Points were awarded‘ on a 10-8-5-8 basis for first, second. third and good effort respect- ively. An additional point was awarded for each entry submit-- ted. When the mothers of the Jel- ferson Community Club put on a hobby show at the school last Wednesday night, both presi- dent, Mrs. Margaret Whalen and the convenor of the wonderful display, Mrs. Helen Ruston (who is herself an artist of some note). were delighted with the response from the women of this area. The basement room of the public school was "just like a showroom." Until this event few knew the “spare time†occupations these clever women enjoy. And the results were pleasing to all. Each year the boys gain in enthusiasm and enlarge the scope of their endeavors. and as a result a shortage of dis- play space was encountered ne- cessitating the use of another room.
