13 THE LIBERAL, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Thursdfl: York County Council at first sessions of its three day meeting in Newmarket this week, agreed that Steeles Ave. should become a suburban road under the Toronto and York Roads Commission, after being rebuilt by the townships that border on it. Approval of Metropolitan Toronto is needed before the move becomes effective. The cost of maintaining sub- urban roads accepted by the commission is split between Metro and the County of York. The road is now the joint re- sponsibility of Scarboro, North York and Etobicoke in Metro and Vaughan and Markham? Townships in the county.
