Ken Banks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Banks of Weldrick Rd.. jspent summer holidays work- ing on his uncle's farm near Barrie. He didn’t realize how hard farm life can be and may be glad to be back at school. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Little-ford and son would like to an- nounce a new addition to their family: their newly adopted daughter is a pretty brown-eyed five year old named “Jacque- line". Mrs. J. Madeleno and family have just returned after a very enjoyable holiday of five weeks at a Georgian Bay area cottage. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peters, friends since be- fore their marriage. Mr. Mad- eleno joined the family for two weeks. Good fishing netted cat- ‘ches of bass. pike and perch and their trips included visits‘ to the zoo and the Midland Indian Village. Visiting from Sault Ste. Marie are Mrs. Mad- eleno’s brother-in-law and sis- ter. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gosney. and their children Ronda and Brian. Mr. and Mrs George Mont- gomery, May Ave, enjoyed three weeks at a cottage at Spring- hurst Beach, Georgian Bay. 0n Holidays Mr. and Mrs. George Veitch and children, Weldrick Rd., have just returned from a trip by plane which took them to Ed- monton to visit with cousins of Mrs. Veitch for five days. After- ward they flew to Saskatoon for an overnight stay with an uncle and aunt of Mr. Veitch, back to North Richvale and then down to Tampa for a visit with a brother and his family. They returned home August 20. Mr. and Mrs. William Johns- ton. Weldrick Road visited their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Walsh and two children at Fort Erie where they have lived for two months owing to Mr. Walsh's work in the area. At Saturday night‘s ball game played in Aurora between Richmond Hill mail carriers and Aurora. Richmond Hill again pulled a game out of the hat by winning 9-3. We believe it was mainly through the profes- sional batting of third base man Len King and catcher Hank Crocker. Although not an ex- pert on baseball, I understand the catcher is supposed to catch the ball in his hands, not in his eye. Our mail carrier-catcher has been sporting the most beautiful rainbow-coloured eye since Saturday‘s game. After- Miss E. Johnstone spent the summer holidays with her sist- er. Mrs. Margaret Walsh at Fort Erie. I‘m sure parents will join me in a hearty cheer three cheers that it's back-to-school on Tues- day.
