Gooding, principal of Crosby Heights School was being unduly crit- icized for no rink being erect-l ed in that area so far this year; After reviewing the situation the board gave permission for a rink to be installed by the parks board at the Crosby School. It was reported that a year ago when park land was aquired by the town adjacent to the Crosby School the parks board had been informed that the school grounds would not be available this year. Trustee W. Hutchinson explained that it was the board’s belief that schools paid for by the public should be used for non- sehool purposes when it is convenient and when there is no alternative. However at Crosby Heights there is an alternative and it is not convenient to have a rink on the school grounds. Chairman Harold Sander- son stated that the school on Crosby Avenue had the smallest play area next to McConaghy School when the number of children at- tending is considered. and that the new Crosby Park is right next door. It was noted that the board was only responsible for child- ren using the rinks when such is part of the regular school programme. At all other times the parks board has the respon- sibility.
