I Peewees l Thornhill Peewees bless“ their little scrappy hearts won from Richmond Hill Peewees. 3-1. Joey De Marco scored the‘ first goal, assisted by Billy‘ Law in the first period. Law scored the second with the asâ€" sist coming from Ian MacKay and Bobby McIntosh scored third unassisted. The game was rough and active with plenty of scrambles around the nets. The Richmond Hill Peewees gave the Thornhill boys a rough time. They are very well matched. John Blackbor- ough of Thornhill got a pen- alty in the first period. Bantams The score was 2-1 for Rich- mond Hill. Richmond H‘il7 scored the first goal in thr first period and Thornhill tied the score a few minutes later. John Stevens got the Thorn- hill goal assisted by John Flan- agan. In the second period Rich- mond Hill broke the tie. This was a very close game with the two bantam teams giving the game everything they had. Midgets Thornhill Midgets lost to Richmond Hill. 5-3. The first Thornhill goal came from Bob Bonnel assisted by Angelo Di Vincenzo: the second from Brian Phillips assisted by Doug 'I‘oolcy and Jerry Mc- Kenzie. Immediately after Phillips got a penalty for trip ping. Andrews also received a penalty. Assistant Coach Bier- ma says its usual for Andrews to get a penalty but he‘s in most of the plays and tries very hard for his team. The third goal was scored by Jerry Mc- Kenzie from Doug 'l'ooley and Angelo Di Vincenzo. This was really a rough game to watch with plenty of body checking on both sides. It remained very close until the third period aged to get to the semi-finals. They were also in the 'l‘am‘ Atom Tournament sponsored by" Wexiord Hockey out at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Association‘ , when Richmond Hill spurtedj ahead to win. On the whole all these teams played much harder and laster than on the preceding night at Double Rink. After all these are still exhibition games and the future looks bright for.I Thornhill. One thing lacking! managers. coaches and players would dearly love to see ents and interested parties in the rooting sectionsn Be sure. to come and see the boys play against Wexford next Saturday night. at Double Rink. As yet there are no .iuv- enile or junior teams in Thornhill so once boys get past the midget stage. in hockey where can they go from there? There Is only one answer. They must find spots on other teams from other localities. Last year. the Stouffville, Clip- pers got good junior mat- erial in Chuck Doyle. Rod Kelson. Bob Mustard. all students of Thornhill Sec~ ondary School. This year Chuck Doyle, Rod Kelson and Bob Mustard are back for a second year with the Clippers with the addition of Craig Dunnett. Glen Hooper is now going to the University of British Columbia. Last year the Clippers made a good showing and will likely do better this year with more experi- enced players. Jim Hood of Buttonville is also with the Clippers and he at- tends Thornhill Secondary.
