Neighborhood Notes It was with regret we learn- ed that Miss Vera Welghlll of Unionvllle died suddenly at New Year‘s. Mlss Welghill is well remembered for her many years of service at the Union- ville Post Office. William McGimpsey New Year’s eve Mark and Bruce Terry were the guests of Michael and Jenni Calder when Mr. Calder took them to see the film, Mary Poppins. Skating conditions were per- fect on New Year’s day and many Headfordites took advan- tage of the clear ice to Work up an appetite. The Wes Clark’s pond was well patronized by their guests. Enjoying the day with them were Mrs. N. Brodie, Cora and Don; Mr. and Mrs. J. Huitson, Mr. and Mrs. G. Boyn- ton and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mortson with Judy, Lewis and Mary. In February of 1983 they celebrat- ed their 50th wedding anni- versary at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Grant. Unionvllle. Since then they have lived at the home of their daughter Sadie. Mrs. Reginald Boustead, in Scarboro. A week prior to his death Mr. McGimpsey was ta- ken to hospital in serious con- dition. ' The funeral service was held Monday afternoon of this week at Ogden Funeral Home, Agin- court, with interment at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Woodbine Avenue. Surviving are Mrs. McGimp- sey, his daughter Sadie, and a son Harry of Merriton, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
