RICHARD UMMEL Missionary Services At Local Churches The series will begin at the Gormley United Missionary Church Tuesday evening when Rev. Richard Ummel will speak and show pictures of his work in Brazil. In the past 15 years. the United Missionary effort has been most productive in Brazil with a number of good sized congregations formed both in rural and urban centres. Mr. Ummel has served in pion- eer jungle work. Wednesday e v e n in g the speaker will be Miss Naomi Everett whose work as a teach- er in Nigeria has been partly in one of the day schools in back- ward “bush country" and more recently in the modern teacher training college in North Cent- ral Nigeria operated by the missionary society. The series concludes with missionary rallies Sunday. April 21, when services at both the Beverley Acres. Richmond Hill and the Gormley United Mis- sionary Churches will have a missionary emphasis. The Thursday evening speak- er at Gormley will be Mrs. Edna Brubacher who first served with Armenian refugees. In 1939 she and her husband began service in Nigeria where Mr. Brubacher subsequently died.
