It was about 1964 when the neighboring block of stores owned by Ross Blackburn showed signs of being vacated that Frank suggested to the British American Oil Company that in view of the expansion of the district it might be wise to seek an option on the property. The company took an option in 1967 and began to build this spring. Business was booming for several reasons. There was the population increase combined with the increase in car registrations. Two local BA stations had been demolished. one at Langstaff, Highway 7 East and Yonge and the other at Yonge and Steeles. The local station caught much of this business. Frank considers his biggest headache to be the scarcity of reliable help and his greatest satisfaction is when he makes a proper diagnosis of a sick car.
