In second place was Walt Prudence with an 861 followed by Sam Walker with an 834; Fred Hickey 819: John Cruse 807: Frank Ryan 801. ALLENCOURT MEN‘S MAJORS Tim Saul led the bowlers in this week's action with an 873 triple combining games of 294. 306 and 273. 14 POLICEMEN WIN And the local police boys got back on the win- track last Sunday night after dropping two games in a row. They took the measure of Ratcliff’s (Can- ada) Limited by 6-3 in a rough and tumble game. Leading the way was Brian Thurston with three goals followed by John Moorhead with two and Jim Stunden with one. FINALLY Just once more around the Grey Cup. Among the Richmond Hill fraternity which managed to make the game (live, that is right at the ONE Stadium) was Gary Chatfield, administrator at the York Cen- tral Hospital. Gary is a native of Winnipeg and, naturally, enjoyed the game spectacle-wise although the West didn’t win. No, I don’t know whether he was hoping for Ottawa or Calgary to win. There will also be plenty of action coming up in minor hockey circles on December 14 and 15 in the new arena. The Legion Midgets will be hosting Myr out of Detroit in an exhibition match; the Lions Peewees will be confronting Ottawa; the North End Cleaner Bantams will also be in action. The local legion will hold a hospitality room recep- tion after the games. And, oh yes, the Lion Peewee team members are busy selling chocolate bars. peanuts, in an effort to raise money to help pay for their jaunt to the Quebec Tournament in February. Prior to that the local boys lost a 10-8 game to the Toronto Stock Exchange and a 5-2 one to Trans Canada Pipeline â€" their only two defeats of the season. They’ve won six. Now to some hockey. Don’t forget the NHL Old Timers - Richmond Hill Junior Rams game this Saturday at 2 pm in the new arena. Lots of familiar names will be on hand including such former stalwarts as Bob Goldham, Ivan Irwin, Cal Gardner, Harry Watson, Sid Smith, etc. On tap this Sunday will be a match with Ron- alds-Federated at 9:30 pm in the old arena. And I’m only kidding about being frightened of hunting. I’m actually intending to go on a hunting trip some time in 1970 or 7]. 1980 at the latest. I’ll be the one with the bow and arrow. Be careful, I’m shaky. So much for the Grey Cup. Hope you were a winner, I was a loser, and that’s why_I just want to forge} about_it. Let’_s not talk about it, okay? Except to say that most of the bodies that attended the pre-and-post-game ceremonies at the Royal York have been found. identified, and returned to their owners. At least to those owners who wanted them back. But when you get right down to it, there must be worse places to be buried than in the lobby of the Royal York Hotel?
