The work is done by the young trainees who require a sheltered work- shop environment. Great strides have been made over the last few years in removing the invisible barrier which used to surround the mentally retarded. One of the greatest tools in this has been the sheltered workshop. But operating a shelt- ered workshop - training centre is a costly venture and to have to shut down such a program because of lack of funds would be a step backward.
