Presentations were also made to Mrs. Patricia Bassett, Miss Barbara Graham and Mrs. Diane Fleury to mark their services to the companies. recently. Batting star of the game was Dale Strang with three for three including one triple. Thursday night of last week produced th‘g 17-2 score at the town park as the Baker boys toyed with Markham behind the combined three hit pitching of Paul Philip and Glen Moreland. It was Baker’s sixth straight win. Philip allowed two hits in four innings, striking out six batters while Moreland allowed one hit in the two innings and striking out five. Dale Strang and Brad Lloyd each knocked in two runs while Greg MacMillan, Moreland, and Berezowski each had one run batted in. Moreland and Philip con- tinued their mastery of oppos- ing teams as they allowed only two hits in Richmond Hill’s 13-2 win over Unionville J1me 16 to bake over undisputed possession of first place. Moreland allowed one hit over five innings, striking out 11 while Philip pitched scoreless ball for No innings. Moreland now has a total of 54 strikeouts this season. Leading hitter was also More- land with his second home run of the season. Catcher Dave Forbes knocked in four runs, Moreland twa. Strang and Mac- Millan one each. Atoms Score 23 Times In 3 Games Kim Pearce scored two goals to help spark Richmond Hill Ballymena to a 4-2 win over Markham in a Newmarket and District Soccer League game last week. The Hillers found the going tougher than the exhibition en- counters with the Markham boys but their experience finally won the day. Other goals were by Tim Whelan and Davey Simpson. Minor Soccer Results BANTAM Left Winger mmpson was outstanding and had strong sup- port from Mark Davies and George Barr. Ma'rkham Goalie Gavin Berry was outstanding in defeat. MOSQUITO It was a case of way too much defence as far as the Richmond Hill Expos were concerned as Newmarket Arrow Auto Body blanked them 4-0. Tim Nugent scored for Ave- nues and Baden Dunkley for the opposition. PEEWEE Richmond Hill Rotary opened the season against Newmarket and fought from behind to tie The Rotarians carried the‘ play in the first half but still! found themselves behind 1-0 going into the second half. ‘ Eric Halman was the hero of‘ the day as he tied the score. Richmond Hill dominated the final half but couldn‘t. break through. SQUIRTS League leading Dynes Jewel- lers and Rangers battled through 60 minutes of scoreless ball in a tough defensive game. Best scoring effort came on a breakaway for Rangers by Jamie Tuck but Goalie Mark Glendenning came up with an excellent save. anu .-‘,.. The Roadrunners continued where they left off last week by downing The Otters 4-0 in a Richmond Hill Girls‘ soccer game at Bayview Secondary School. Halftime score was 2-0 with goals going to Marilyn Grasse and Valerie Pyle. Miss Pyle scored again in the second half and Jane Veshart wrapped the game up with a final tally.
