After several months of con-l sidering modem versus tradi- tional designs for a symbol, the board agreed on August 17 to approve a design prepared by Floyd Baillargeon of the staff of Bayview Secondary school. The stylized five-petalled white rose, adapted from the white rose of York which forms the centre of the symbolic Tu- dor Rose. is encircled with the words, “York County Board of Education”. and will be printed in the board's colors of red and white on letterhead and publi- cations issued by the board. It was explained that the five petals and five stamens of the rose in the board crest symbolâ€" ise the board's five areas, the four geographic areas and the area of special services. The rose by itself will also be used alone as the board’s sym- bol when appropriate. Make regular pocket money on a Liberal paper route. Estab- lished routes may be available in your area.
