Senior Citizens The last meeting of 1970 was attended by 37 members of the Thornhill Senior Citizens Club. on December 16, despite very bad weather conditions. They include religious plays, puppet shows. a variety show as Well as several traditional British pantomimes. In addition there is of course the National Ballet’s annual presentation of The Nutcracker. Listed are several suggestions for an outing to the theatre with the younger members of the family. Christ the King Lutheran Church will hold Christmas Eve Service at 7 pm. This will be a family service in a candlelit set- ting. Holy Trinity Church held its annual candlelight carol service last Sunday. always a very special event at Christmas. On Christmas Eve they will have a children's Christmas service at 7 pm. At 11 pm. the choir will sing carols from the gallery and at 11.30 Rev. Canon Reginald Howden will conduct Holy Com- munion and offer his special Christmas message. At 8 am on Christmas Day there will be Holy Communion and at 10.30 am a family Communion service with a Christmas mesage to be given by Rev. A wonderful turnout of interested people atâ€" ’tended and afterwards enjoyed ‘refreshments. December 20 of a joyous even- ing gathering in their family pot luck dinner. A Christmas pro- gram was put on by the Sunday church school children, stres- sing “It Is More Blessed to Give than to Receive." ‘i Children of the Sunday school brought, their white gifts to the alter Sunday morning. The imen's group attended Holy Communion followed by a cor- porate breakfast in the church hall. Any men interested in joining this group will be made most welcome. Christmas Eve at 7pm a special family service will be held in Christ the King Church in a candlelit setting. A11 famil- ies are invited to attend. Christmas Day at 10 am a special carol service will be held with Holy Communion. The theme will be “We Give Thanks." At Emmanuel Anglican Church, Christmas Eve at 11:15- pm there will be a carol ser- vice with eucharist at midnight. Christmas Day at 10 am there will be a service of Holy Com- munion and a carol sing of the congregation's choice instead of the sermon. Parents are encour- aged to bring their children to this service. Rev. George Young reports that if there are people who are ill or shut in who would like their communion at the Christ- mas session, this may be ar- ranged by calling 889-6789.
