I think most humans will agree. Take your choice of any century and you'll find plenty of evidence to back up the above People never change. just their clothing. Which. magically, takes us back a couple of ‘ weeks to when I commented on the tempest which ; blew up regarding the Richmond Hill Minor Football League. My comments were under the heading, 1 “Sad Situation.†Briefly, I said it was a sad situation when an official has to stop a football game because he feels the. two teams are so incensed at one another perm- anent injury might occur. Especially minor football I said also that in no way should players be allowed to take matters into Their own hands. Even if they think they are, or even if they are, justified. Players insisting upon doing so should be dealt with That goes for the coaches, That same issue. “The Liberal“ printed a letter from a parent which also tended to look with dis- favor at some of the so-called “mouth-off†type football players. Needless to say, this started the pot boiling and ’ here we are today. here I am today. The two coaches involved in that controversial : game were Ray Kyte of Trio Restaurant and John Bork of the Blues. It doesn't take any wild imagining to guess that l was suddenly confronted (albeit mildly. thank heavens) by Coach Bork who defended the players in that particular game. >6! ’3 i i O DEFENDS PLAYERS Hr- didn't like the criticism levelled at the players by myself and the parent because he didn't feel it was justified. I won't go into details (why get into bickering?) because I see no real good being achieved. There are two sides to every story. I related one and this made him unhappy. He does have a good point. But my overall impression was that he was mainly interested in "cooling" the situation. This I heartily concur with. Nothing is accomplished by standing back and pointing fingers of guilt at one another. In this case. maybe everyone is a little to blame. Correcting the situation seems to me to be the most important thing. Problems do arise. Get together. talk them out. correct them. Some of the difficulty here might be the fact gloat there are too many adults wearing too many ats. i t S i Q TOO MANY HATS? To “it: There is currently no president in the league.
