Mrs. Helen Watt and family of Scarboro spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Steckley. Peter Vanderkooy met with an accident at Bayview Second- ary on Monday of last week, when he had the misfortune during the sheet metal class to lose his index finger at the sec- ond knuckle on his left hand. He had to have it operated on and spent the night in York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill. A speedy recovery is wished for him. Birthday greetings to Mrs. Fred Walker, Mrs. Herb Nelson, Miss Shirley Nelson all for March 6. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Crox- ford and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baxter at Oshawa. The Gormley Gamblers bow- ling team from this area is how- ling on Monday evenings now at the ABC Bowling Alley, Rich- mond Hill, since the fire at the Allencoum Lanes, Richmond Hill. Mrs. Ruth Morris of Willow- dale called on the Frisby Family on Saturday afternoon. If there are those who wish m join the church either by profession of faith or by the transfer of membership, would they please let Rev. Martin Jenkinson know so he can be of assistance. Neighborhood Notes Another euchre party will be held in the community hall on Friday (tomorrow) at 8pm. Ev- eryone welcome. Ladies please provide lunch. Messrs. Garnet Francy and William Klees are now patients in the new Country Place nurs- ing home on 18th Avenue, just east of Bayview Avenue on the former Dr. Noble Farm. These churches have been invited to join with the chur- ches in Unionville. This joint service will be held in Union Villa. The women’s day of prayer service for Headford, Brown's Corners and Victoria Square will be held on Friday (tomor- row) at 2pm. 'The first Gormley Brownie Pack and the lst Gormley Guide Company attended the church service on Sunday mom‘ ing at Melville United Church. Church News Mrs. Bert Taun and Glenn. along with David Crosier of Stouffville had Sunday dinner with Mrs. Mabel Frisby, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Frisby and girls. The boys are divided into two leagues for floor hockey, 8-12 yeam and 12-16 years, while the girls play table tennis.
