Karl seems to have a penchant for coming up with some excel- lent prospects. KARL BRIMBLECOMBE But I will attempt to scratch out a few notes in between packing the duds. So excuse me‘if the odd sock gets in the way of what I'm writing. I know it’s hardly the time of season to be talk- ing about hockey but then anything seems to go these days. “Besides all this.” he stated. “we’ll have 10 of our players back including our two goalies of last year. Gary Carr and Gordie Woolnough. So we’re in pretty good shape” Heisums it‘all up by saying he thinks his team will “be even stronger this season than last” which bodes well for local fans. This will come as a profound shock to my two readers (or is it three?) but I'm going on holidays for the next few days and I don't intend to think about any of you while I'm gone. I'm not even going to dwell on the Richmond Hill Dynes Jewellers (recent All-Ontario winners) who always celebrate major victories by going on losing streaks in front of their faithful fans. Ah tu, Brute. It's all too painful. ‘ Karl tells me that hockey sessions (yes, already) will be held at the ai‘ena August 15, 22, and 29 for any- one wanting to try out for the team. He's calling it his rookie camp and you are all welcome. Times are from 7 to 9 pm. In Bolton she struck out 15 batters and no errors were committed by the Hillers. In Bramalea she struck out 18 batters. Again no errors were committed by the Hill girls while Bramalea's repres- tatives committed four. The Mic Macs executed a perfect double play which was almost turned into a triple play but the throw home was a bit hesitant. Sherry Robinson hit her first “grand slam" of the year, ac- counting for four of the runs while her teammates hit well to account for the others. The season record for the Dairy Queen Mic Macs now stands at nine wins, one loss and no ties. The next Mic Macs home game is tonight (Thursday) at Crosby Park, starting at 8:30. The girls are also entered in an “A”, “B” tournament this Sat- urday in Grimsby. Spectators would be appreciated.
