Rev. Allen Hallett performed a wedding at the Church on July 26, when Maureen Booth became the bride of Michael Ross Irvine. The Stots returned Saturday to find that neighbors to the north and south had sold those properties â€" the Eskesens and Jack and Marion Stephenson and their three sons of Unity. Saskatchewan. have been visit- ing with Marion's mother Mrs‘ Douglas Hood and Isobel. and with Don and Dorothy Reesor and their family. Mrs. Sidney English has been holidaying with relatives near Clearwater. They returned in late after- noon and dined at a Barrie res- taurant, to complete a delight- ful day. Hostesses responsible were Mrs. Alvin Robinson and Mrs. Joe Robinson. Guests at the Leaf Home Thursday of last week were Rev. Roscoe Chapin of Union- ville with his daughter Joan. Mrs. [Quast and daughters Lora, Cheryl and Leslie of Terrace. Congratulations to Clifford Cox who has been promoted to the rank of sergeant of detec- tives with the York Regional Police. Cliff was a former de- tective with the Markham Township force, Friends have been happy to see Mrs. Jean Cook in the neighborhood. She has been a guest of the Sherman Families recently. Another guest is Mrs. Jeén Mitchell of Edmonton who is recuperating from an accident near Bolton in early June. the home Mrs. and Mrs. Edgar McAllis- ter of British Columbia have been guests of Jack and Mary Rodick prior to their return home next week. Mrs. Fred Leaf and Lynda visited friends near Arthur last weekend and attended a per- formance of King Lear at Strato ford. Buttonville WI m e m b e r 5 took a bus trip to Granvenhurst on Wednesday of last week for a cruise on Lake Muskoka. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Draper welcomed their third grand- daughter recently. A second daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Draper. a sister for Tammy. Mr. and Mrs. Denton Emm- well have moved to their new home in Barrie. as that is where Denton's work is now. They will be greatly missed in the community and church. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hamilton and Vincent Wills took Kevin Nichols to his home in Knox-i ville. Penn. following his re- cent stay here with his grand- parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Crux-i ford and family have moved to their new home down Bayview, Mrs. Clarence Steckley at- tended a miscellaneous shower for her grandson Bobby Ken- nedy and his fiance Miss Ella Fith of Aurora who are being married on July 29. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fritz and family of Belleville are visiting for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Steck- ley spent Sunday with friends at Lakefield. married on July 29. Sincere sympathy is extended to Ronald Gee and family in the passing of a loving wife and mother. Victoria Square AURORA: At a special meeting with council Ontario Humane Society General Manager Tom Hughes predicted that a child will die from rabies in the Re- gion of York this year. He sug- gested council prepare and dis- tribute a leaflet on rabies. Cost of canine control in this town will increase from 50c to 60¢ per capita this year.
