Vacation Bible School ‘ A very successful Vacation Bible School was conducted last week at the Missionary Church with an average attendance of 129 and an enrolment of 160. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Bass and her family, Mrs. Caro- lyn Webster. Donald. Kenneth, Clifford and Mrs. Janine Oed- ham. The community was shocked to learn of the sudden pass- ing of Rev. Bass ear‘ly Thurs- kday morning. The funeral was held on Mon- day afternoon from the Chris- tian Church, Stouffville. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Logan and family of Hamilton were week- end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Brillinger. Over 200 interested parents were present on Sunday night for the closing service. Rev. Eldon Boettger welcom- ed the many friends and John Campey gave a brief history of the hymn “Amazing Grace". Gordon Gooderham of Stouffville spoke on Sunday morning at Heise Hill Church. The late Rev. Clarence Bass had been scheduled to speak. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dodd motored to Ottawa for the fun- eral of their niece Mrs. Ann Loftus on Thursday. Congratulations to Max Hazel who recently celebrated his 82nd birthday while visiting with relatives in Germany. ‘ Mr. and Mrs. Tom Christilaw and family of Blind River had dinner on Wednesday evening with her sister Mrs. Milsted and Charleen. a northbound Gray Coach bus rolled over on Highway 400. just noth of Highway 9 during a heavy rainstorm. The bus left Toronto's Bay Street terminal about 4 pm bound for Sudbury. It skidded. rolled over and slid about 100 feet. The local Ambéssador’s Quar- tette sang several delightful numbers. NEWMARKET: It required seven ambulances to remove 27 people to York County Hospital in Newmarket August 23 after a northbound Gray Coach bus rolled over on Highway 400. just north of Highway 9 during a heavy rainstorm. "Mrs. Fred Lewis attended the Warriors‘ Day parade on Aug- ust 19 with the amputation club members at the Canadian Ex- hibition in Toronto.
