Also present were Nell and Art Spence. Every Friday evening there is a mystery winner and this time was no exception. President was the mystery win- ner and had the pleasure of drawing the name of the 50-50 winner. You guessed it Chester Now this last item brings to mind some‘of the good times that have gone on in the past. Every Friday night there is what we call our Friday night socials. When you attend one of these affairs, you never know just what is going to happen. Like the other week. In attend- ance at this bash were our President and his lady (Rita \and Douglas, in case you jok- ers don’t know who we meani. -Nell Spence won the 50â€"50.‘ Wouldn‘t this just rot your? socks. So why don't you all try to put in an appearance once in a while and see just what cooks. Lately the tribesmen of ranch 375 have been suffering mm the wanderlust which has aused them to wander to many laces. Seven little indians ook off for the wide open paces of Edmonton, Alberta. hile pausing at this restful pa, they took in the Canadian oftbali Championship. When aking time out to meditate, hey availed themselves of the ospitality of various Legion ranches in that area. Upon heir return to their own res- rvation. one would think they ad been on a scalping expediâ€" ion from all the hairâ€"raising ales they have brought back. ‘lad to see you home safely, e lads. Speaking of travelling. an~ ther group of indians took off or the French River area dur- ng the Labor Day Weekend. [‘he idea was to get in some ishing time. There were three 'ndians and four chiefs. Guess ho had all the ruddy fun. Oh 'es, we do hear that one little ndian got himself lost. He made a gee when he should ave made a haw. He was so interested in a game of euchre that he nearly missed hearing his number called. Oh well. some of these characters are so blase you .know. All spoofing aside. we ex- tend our congratulations to all the winners. (We do hear a rumor that they are going to let us in the clubroom now). Lately the members have been running on a lucky streak. This past Friday the clubroom was jammed with folks watch- ing the final game of the series between Canada and Russia: as is usual during a hockey series we all buy tickets to try for the jackpot. This night was no difâ€" ferent. At the end of the game Paul Attila was found to have the lucky combination. Congrats Paul. {gage accept our heartiest good vishes. Gash we have just taken a look see to find out what hap- pened to our sick parade and found there was no one there. This certainly makes us feel goodâ€"sure hope that you all stay this healthy for the rest of this year: we can't afford to have any of you sick. Thursday nights are Air Cad-‘ et nights for 778 Squadron of‘ Branch 375. This past Thursday! was no different except for one: thing. All boys were spruced; up to the nines and ready for. the renewal of routine. One. member. George LeBeouf tra: versed the length of the hall on his way to the Clllbl’OOIll. He was showing his guest the hos- pitality of the branch. One sharp-eyed cadet caught a quick glanceâ€"did a double takeâ€"and cleared the air with a mighty grin. and criedâ€""Clear the trackâ€"here comes Shack". That‘s right, Eddie Shack was in town and we had him (at least the air cadets did). Being the gentleman that he is. Edâ€" die gave those lads the thrill of a lifetime. Bet a lot of par- ents had a hard time getting their lad to settle down for sleep that night. Somewhere in this column we; have mentioned the good times‘ at Branch 375. Well Septemberi 16 is no different. Ways and: Means Chairman George Dice- man is heading a committee that is tossing a Hard Times Dance. There are plenty of Prizes, refreshments and good dance music. "An Afternoon In August". All ranks please attend. Got to close down for the name. Seems there is a slight feeling of danger in the air. Sure hope the Matron of Bed- lam Abbey isn't on the prowl.
