Approval meant amending the present bylaw, which states that not more than one inter- ment may be made in one grave. However, with the increase of cremations and the fact that cemeteries are often requested to inter the remains of those cremated. it was felt some change should be made in the present regulations, the com- mittee said in its report to council. The recommendation was pas- sed without discussion by counâ€" cil, with no mention as to why future interment of cremated persons would be restricted to two. In Richmond Hill, where the cemetery is operated by The Presbyterian Church, Wesley Middleton, cemetery manager, said there were no restrictions as to how many persons could be buried in one grave after cremation. “We’ll put in as many as it will take," he said. There are also no restrictions in the province as to how one may dispose of the ashes of a cremated perosn.
