John first moved into the munici- pality after his war service and as time proâ€" gressed lent his efforts to various community activities. Through the early years he was a member of the lst Richvale Cub and Scout group committee, canvassed the area for the introduction of municipal water and served over 10 years on the volunteer fire brigade before it was disbanded. Mr. Bailey was a prime instigator of the Richvale Lions Club formation and served as charter president. John feels that since the annexation of the area by Richmond Hill, proper representation for the needs of this particular section has not been given by the incumbent representative. For this reason he feels that a change is very necessary and overdue. Mr. Bailey's experience as a contractor dealing with various munici- palities throughout York Region he feels will stand him in good stead to cope with the problems facing Richmond Hill in its burgeoning state.
