A young Metro man was reported recovering in Sunny- brook Hospital from taking the pills in the same group after escaping from York Public School Board and with his construction back- ground was able to contrib- ute much as chairman of the building committee. A resident of Richmond Hill for 20 years, residing at 92 Laverock Avenue in the ward, Mr. Stephenson has four daughters and one son, Bill, who came up through minor hockey in Richmond Hill and is cur- rently playing Junior “A†with the Richmond Hill Rams. Central Hospital emergency in a wild uncontrolled con- dition after being taken there unconscious. FOUND UNCONSCIOUS Called by the friend, the parents found the 15-year-old there unconscious and took her to York Central Hospital where her stomach was pumped and she responded to treatment. She was recover- ing in hospital at press time. The youngster arrived home late in the middle of the night and could well have diod in her sleep if not con- fronted by her parents on arrival and prevented from going to bed. While a friend was being transported home by the girl's father, the youngster in an extremely unsettled condition escaped from the home and walked to the nearby residence of an acquaintance. ILLICIT SUPPLIER Police said a quantity of the illicit sleeping pills is known to have come into the local area recently. this alcohol-sleeping pill com- bination by thrill seekers has caused many deaths. It has also caused fatal accidents.
