Two additional members were added to the Legion Midget Hockey Tournament Executive Committee when the second seasonal meeting was held recently. Both Wal- ter Donkin and John Clephan are experienced in minor hockey and both have worked in previous tournaments. Russell Andrews was named tournament secretary and Robert Heider was confirmed as treasurer at the meeting. Tournament President Marsh Amos stated that about 100 advance invitations had been <cnt to hockey clubs and that would be completed January 10. Some twenty teams have already made early applica- tion for entry. Date of the Seventh Annual Legion Tournament was set for March 18 through March 24. The seven-day event will again coincide with the mid- winter break of Ontario schools. Executive Director George Karpati reports that its greatest efforts have been in the direc- tion of recruiting men to volun- teer three or four hours a week to become Big Brothers and spend these hours with a father- less boy. “However, in this area we have not achieved a high rate of success. The number of boys on the waiting list in York County is still about 48, and this num- ber is growing all the time. so it means recruitment of volunâ€" teer Big Brothers has to strengthen,†says Mr. Karpati.
