While the Rams failed to win. all the games they played could have gone either way. Sunday morning saw Rich- mond Hill play a team from Acton, Mass., in a very fast. physical game and lost this one by 2-1. Saturday night the Hillers played the host team, Fram- ingham Jets, before a cap- acity crowd and again lost a hard-fought contest by 4-2. Parmata has stated that it will do a more com- plete feasibility study of the area after it finds out whether the people of Richmond Hill (and/or the council) are for or against the project. They point out it would be too costly to do so without :ome indication of backing from the powers-that- e. Then again, how can people judge if they don’t have all the answers re traffic and the general impact (good or bad) on the community in general? FEASIBILITY STUDY Maybe some agreement could be reached that the town would agree to the proposal pro- viding a feasibility study came up with the right answers? For Parmata and the town. I don’t know. Although the Rams put up a good fight the Lexington team won 4-3. This was evident (to me) from that public meeting the other night. There were people for the stadium, against it, some in between, and a lot wondering about the sheer fact it’s being offered to them. But that meeting saw only 160 people there. There are 34,000 people in Richmond Hill right now. The answer, to me, is obvious. You people better get up off your permanent and let council know_ your feelings pro or con. As in any major project, there are many questions to be asked, answers to be given. There’s no doubt that council, being rightfully political animals, will be swayed by the reaction you give it. It’s well known that politicians fol- low people, not lead them. Nothing wrong with thi_s. Strictly a political reality, MINOR BALL Any youngster wanting to sign up for the 1974 Richmond Hill Minor Ball Association may do so by phoning Registrar Ron MacInnis at 884- 3248. The Richmond Hill team was the only Canadian one in the tournament and play- ed their first game March 30 against Lexington, Mass‘ I don’t think I’m taking a negative attitude to the stadium. I personally, would love to see it here. However, I’m just one person. There are a lot of other people out there who might have different ideas. The Rams flew to Fram- ingham, Mass., March 29 to participate in the second an- nual Perini Invitational Hoc- key Tournament. (Continued from Page 13) and he sincerely feels a sports stadium~complex would be much more desirable than other types of development. He also feels sports has been neglected and deserves a bit of attention itself. One more thing: One big question above all questions is whether the City of Toronto would even agree to selling the property for this type of usage. Do they and Metro want a stadium up here? It was George who first dubbed Russell (hipps of the Dynes Jewellers as “Casey†a way back when. The name stuck. Top individual point getter was Chris DeGeer with 33 goals and 35 assists for a total of 68 points. PERRY HILL ATOM RAMS Enter the problem. In any situation you have differing viewpoints. A community is comprised of many different kinds of people. Some are sports fans, others are not, still others both. The team had 191 goals scored against them for an average of 2.98. Goalkeeping duties were shared by Paul Norman and Duncan Condy. Of course, if they don’t pay their taxes the town may get the property the classical way. In two years.
