The committee, chaired by Trustee John McMurray of Whitchurch-Stouffvifle, has recently been looking into a request from the OSSSA that It place a non-voting student representative on the board. Appearing before the board in February, Association Chairman, John Campey, said the London Board of Education permitted a stu- dent to sit with it. The stu- dent made motions and sat on committees, Mr. Campey said. The board agreed to sub- mit a list of existing commit- tees to members of the exe- cutive of OSSSA. As the new committees are made up. they will be allowed to name a student to sit on each of them. NOT ON SOME However. the list will not i n c l u d e committee-of-the- whole or the salary commit- tee. The board also recommen- ded that a trustee be named as liaison between the board and the OSSSA executive. and that the latter be invited to attend board meetings. Other members of the OSSSA executive are: Vice- Chairman Mary Morgan. Thomlea; Secretary Cathy Alkman, Huron Heights; Treasurer Warren Cresswell. Thornhill: Public Relations Paul Layefsky, Thomlea. Other members of the board's special committee were Markham Trustees John MacKay of Thomhill and Craig Cribar of New- market. c2w42 'c3w43 c1w43 APRIL 27.
