Mrs. and Mr. Roy Bril- linger and daughters, plus Mrs. Levi Steckley dined Monday evening with Rev. and Mrs. George Sheffer of Stayner. Dale Doner, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Doner of Ilorin, Nigeria, Africa arrived home the night of July 20 Dale graduated from grade 12 at Hillcrest Secondary School in Jos, Nigeria in June of last year. This year he attended the theological college in Ilorin. After visiting relatives in our area for six weeks. he expects to commence further studies at Bethel College in In view of the fact that school is out but we do have summer playground, the children are free and easy as the saying goes. Their minds are far from the rea- lities of the conditions around them. Therefore, the residents of this community are very concerned about the speeding motorists. Any- one who sees a speeding car, truck or whatever, should report the incident to chief Bruce Crawford of the police department. On Monday of last week the children from Sixteenth Avenue Public School along with the children from Char- les Howitt were taken by bus to Ontario Place. Not one of the children missed the Children's Village. Some went to see the movies. Val- cano was a bit scary but what a treat Snow Job was! Mrs. Joecy Lukianiuk of Duncan Road has returned from Russia where she visi- ted her father-in-law, rela- tives and friends. Indiana in September Mrs. Mel Clark and Philip of Gainsville, Florida and Mrs. George Sider of Wain- fleet dined Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brillinger. Mrs. Roy Soper of Van- kleek Hill spent a weekend recently with Mrs. Clarence Bass. Steven Steers, a 17-year- old csCapee from Guelph Re- formatory, was arrested last week in Newmarket as he was about to go to sleep in a field. The youth was spotted by York Regional Constable James Allan, just north of Davis Drive. Steers was recently con- victed in Newmarket court fqr break-in and theft, pos- session of stolen property and possession of marijuana. He, was sentenced to nine months definite and 12 months indefinite. We are pleased to hear Reverend Roy Inglis cele- brated 50 years in the minis- try June 30. He resided here for several years. He visits regularly in St. John’s and Branson convalescent hospi- tals.
